"Of Mortal Loving" by Mistress VHi all. This is a follow up to my "We WHAT???" tale, although it could stand alone. Once again, it has a humorous and very human slant. Enjoy.
Yes, this is an ADULT N&N tale. If you are under 18, or hate this sort of tale, please leave now. You have been warned.
Boilerplate---I don not own Nick or Nat, TPTB do. I am just borrowing them for awhile, as well as several movie titles. No harm or infringement intended.
Permission to archive at JADFE, Mel's page, the fkfanfic site and Mortal Love. ALl others need only ask. One last thing. I mention "Men In Black," which may not be absolutely accurate timeline wise, but hey. So what? ;-)
Nick walked into Natalie's office and was surpsised to see her at her desk, head down on her arms, dozing. What was this all about, he wondered? Hesitantly, he touched her shoulder.
"Nick," she said sleepily, accepting a kiss. "Sorry, I must have dropped off...I haven't been getting much rest lately." She gave him a suggestive glance, then smiled seductively.
Nick found himself smiling in return. Nor had he been sleeping much. They had been lovers for 10 days, and in that time, he had lost count of how many times thay had made love...or where. At the loft, in the Caddie, in Nat's office, in his elevator, at her place, in the shower, in the kitchen, and in the parking lot of the video store (in the Caddie, of course!). And it was true. He took less less each time. Jeanette had been right. Nick blessed that first night, when things just naturally happened. It had been so easy...
Snapping out of his daydream, Nick realized Natalie's hand was slowly playing with his blue-jean clad thigh. He let his fingers drop to her breast, highly visible through her thin hospital greens. They kissed.
"So," he whispered against her hair," are we on for tonight?" Natalie smiled. "Yup," she told him. "But can we have a quiet night in? I'm a little---you know---" she stopped, blushing.
"You're what?" Nick asked innocently, stroking a nipple into tautness.
"I'm kind of sore," Natalie said ruefully. "I haven't been in the habit of making love twice a day every day, you know! Even for the sake of a cure...I need a night off."
Nick grinned. "As Milady commands," he replied. "Tell you what, I'll get a couple of videos and some popcorn...and maybe a bottle of wine, and I'll pick you up after your shift. How's that?"
Natalie stood up, smiling. "Just fine," she declared. "Now scat, I have work to do and so do you. Better step into the freezer for a minute," she pointed at the front of his jeans, "or you'll have alot of
explaining to do once Tracey and Reese see THAT!"At the video store, Nick decided he wanted to see Natalie laugh...and HE might like to laugh as well. He chose two films he'd read about and selected popcorn and chocolate for Natalie. Funny, he thought, a few months ago, I would have rather flown into the sun than watch this drivel. Maybe the cure IS working! At the local liquor store, he picked out a nice robust red wine. For some reason, he'd been wanting to try it---without blood. He remembered quaffing excellent Beajoulais and
Buzets in his mortal days. This could be a good sign!Nick picked Natalie up and drove to her apartment. She'd had blackout shades installed, ordered clear from a Yukon Territories manufacturer, so there was no danger of accidental sunlight-related disasters. Natalie fed Sydney, then changed into sweats and joined Nick on the sofa.
"Men in BLACK? Ed WOOD?" she gasped. "All right, mister," she pointed a finger at Nick threateningly, "where is the REAL Nick Knight, and is he ok?" For an answer, Nick kissed her. They settled in to watch the films.
Nick found himself laughing almost non-stop. Maybe it was the films, maybe it was the wine, maybe it was Sydned curled up next to them, maybe it was Natalie in his arms, laughing as well. Or a combination of everything. In any case, he hadn't felt better in....who the hell knew? The wine tasted good, and by sipping slowly, he was able to split the bottle with Natalie over the course of the evening.
After the movie finished, Nick pulled Natalie closer for a deep kiss. She responded eagerly, despite her fatigue. He slid his hands under her sweatshirt, hardly able to control his passion.
"Are you too sore for my tongue?" he whispered.
"Never," Natalie whispered back, as Nick drew her leggings off. He loved pleasuring her, loved the taste of her secret place. And he knew Natalie was absolutely mad for his tongue, which excited him all the more as he began to lick her, seductively, teasingly, incessantly.
He carried Natalie to bed and they undressed for sleep. Nick loved sleeping next to her, curling his body around hers. It felt so natural.
Towards morning, Nick sleepily stumbled from his bed into the bathroom. When he returned, he noticed someting unusual.
"Nat," he shook her shoulder, "Nat, wake up!"
Natalie stirred. "What is it, Nick?" she asked drowsily.
"Nat, you're bleeding..." Nick touched her thigh, "here."
"It's just my per--" Natalie snapped into wakefulness. "My *period*," she whispered. She looked up at Nick, who sat next to her, perplexed.
"Are you ok?" he asked, concerned. Natalie nodded, hardly able to speak.
"Nick---how did you notice this?" she asked slowly.
"Well," he began, frowning, "When I pulled the covers back, I saw the blood..."
"You didn't smell it? Nick? Why were you out of bed? Were you feeding?" Natalie's voice was trembling.
"No," he replied, yawning, "I had to take a le--" He stopped, stunned. "A LEAK!" he almost shouted. "NAT!" He threw his arms around her and hugged her so hard they nearly suffocated. "Do you think?" he finally ventured.
"The cure is working..." Natalie finished. They just stared at each other for a few moments, then Nick pulled Natalie to her feet. "Here," he said, "let me help you with the sheets."
"You really ARE becoming mortal, Nick," she told him smiling as they re-made the bed. Natalie disappeared into the bathroom for a quick fixup, then returned to him. Nick held her in his arms. He had never felt so good about anything, not in 800 years.
"What an introduction to mortality," he said softly. Natalie laughed.
"Be glad it wasn't a hangover," she chuckled.
"Nat--" Nick looked at her. "I'm going to be---" Natalie's eyes grew wide.
"Hungry, I think, when we get up." He smirked. "Do you think we can make some breakfast?
"I don't know, what did you used to eat back in the 13th century? I'm not sure I can match your mother's cooking, you know!" Natalie giggled.
"Venison, steak and kidney pie, quail's eggs, quiche, nothing too fancy." He smiled, recalling long-forgotton memories and brand new pangs in his stomach. "But cold cereal will do!"
He kissed Natalie and they headed off to the kitchen.
