I'd like to say that this is the very first fan fiction that I have written, EVER.  It took me
alot of guts to write it.  Of course, I'm sure all writers start out that way.  Anyway, this
is a N&N story, because I am definitely an N&N packer.

Short history.  I started watching Forever Knight during it's third season on USA,
starting with "Let No Man Tear Asunder."  It took me awhile to figure out that there had
been two seasons before that.  Luckily, I've seen some of them.  Now, I'm hooked.

Nick, Natalie, and Schanke belong to TBTB, which I believe are Tri Star and Sony.
Alex belongs to me.

Most of the stories I've read have been real good.  What can I say, I'm a sucker for
romance.  However, I decided to take a different angle with this story.  This will probably
be the only story of this nature that I will write, depending on it's response. Next time I
plan on writing something more, well, basically more of a story.  This is an ADULT story.
I hope I do all right with it.  I'm posting it on the JADFE under the Nick/Natalie heading.

Okay, enough chit-chat.  On with the story....

Mine (ADULT)

Five.  There were five bottles on the table.  Bottles that had, only moments ago been
filled with tasteless swill.  Yet, Nick Knight still hungered for more.  For the sixth time
in the last two hours, he once again got up from the leather couch and headed for the
refrigerator.  Grabbing the nearest bottle, Nick didn't even try to be civil.  He sank his
teeth into the cork, only to spit it out across the room.

This night, it was hard to down the cows blood.  He wanted, no NEEDED the sweet,
warm, savoring sensation of human blood.  Not just any human, but one in particular.

He sat down on the black leather couch, gulping down the cows blood mindlessly.
The memories of what he had heard fill his heart with rage, changing what were once
beautiful blue eyes to golden hues to, finally, scarlet ores of betrayal.

*Flashback-Earlier that night*

"Finally," Don Schanke said as he put the final report he had been working into his
"Out" box.

Nick looked up from his last report which, too, was finished.  Glancing at his watch,
he let out a sigh.  "The more I think about it, the more I believe cops do more
paperwork than these large corporations."

"Tell me about it.  I tell ya, I've got to take a vacation," Schanke said, grabbing his
jacket from the coat rack.

Nick only laughed.  "You just had one!"

"Yeah, and now I'm telling ya, I need another one.  Anyway, I'm going on a lunch
break.  You coming?"

Grabbing his own jacket, Nick followed his partner out.  When they got outside, he
said, "I'll see you in an hour."

"Where're you going?" Schanke asked.

Nick started to head for the '62 mint cadillac parked at the end of the lot.  He didn't
even turn around as he answered, "To the morgue."

Schanke's laughter made Nick turn around.  When he did, he found his partner shaking
his head as he walked to his own car on the other side of the lot.  Nick just decided to
ignore his partner's musings and continued to the Caddy.

"Don't you even want to know why I'm laughing?" asked Schanke, unlocking his door.

"No," was Nick's simple reply.

With that, he drove off.

*

The morgue had been quiet when he went in.  As he walked down the hall, he heard
Natalie Lambert's voice, which in turn made him grin.  The warmth spread through him as
hers, even from that distance, secured him with hope.  Hope for mortality, mortality that
would show her how much he loved her.

Nick had to stop for a moment, leaning against the wall, closing his eyes.  Damn, how the
hell did she do this to him.  Each time he thought of Nat, his body had the same reaction.
With each touch of her hand, his skin, even through the layers of clothing, tingled.  His
manhood surged with each brief hug or kiss on the cheek.  He couldn't deny it.  Nick
wanted Natalie, wanted her beneath him, moaning, panting, begging him to take her.
Himself thrusting into her pliant body as her nails desperately dug into his back, clawing
the flesh, trying to pull him deeper.  When, at last, she screamed her release in the form
of his name as the stimulating points of his fangs plunged into the smooth skin of her neck,
giving his own release...

The laughter cut off the erotic image forming in his mind's eye.

Nick started.  The laughter had been male, and had definitely come from Nat's office.
Using his senses, he listened carefully to the conversation.

"I'm telling you Natalie, you look great."

A soft sigh.  "Thanks Alex.  It's good to be noticed."

"How can the men of Toronto not notice a gorgeous creature like you, huh?  I mean, our
college mates sure did."

Nick had always wondered that himself.  However, he was grateful that they didn't, for he
knew full well what his reaction to them would be.

"I keep asking myself that same question, but without the whole 'gorgeous creature' image,"
Nat replied.

"What do you mean?"

"Come on Alex.  Okay, I'm pretty, I'll give myself that much.  But not...,"

The gasping of breath, and Nick knew why, as the quickening of Nat's heartbeat raced in
his sensitive hearing.  The vampire surged as he saw in his mind Natalie's lips, sweet and
soft, giving homage to another man's tongue.  The whispering of cloth moving was almost
deafening, as Nick could almost see the strangers hands glide across her body, pulling her
to him, touching what Nick considered forbidden to any man but himself.

Natalie was gasping for breath as the man spoke up once more, "Have dinner with me
tomorrow night, Nat."

She said nothing, but must have nodded, for the next thing Nick heard was an enthusiastic
"Great" from the stranger.  He was approaching the door.  Nick, who, during the entire time,
had moved closer to the door, now stepped to the side as the man walked out.

The stranger was as tall as Nick, and dressed remarkably well.  His hair was a dark brown,
cut very short..  Unlike Nick's, his skin was tanned from the rays of the sun.  The attitude of
him was apparant by the way he stood, with confidence and charm.

Alex walked down the hall, unaware of the piercing glare following him from a very angry
creature.

Nick went down the hall and into the Caddy, without visiting Natalie.

*

Schanke was worried.  His partner had seemed in a rather good mood earlier.  Now, an
hour later, Schanke felt he was with a different person.  Knight seemed somewhat
distracted, and definitely pissed.  Schanke was even afraid to ask what was wrong.

Suddenly, Nick got up from his chair.  "Book off for me."

"But Nick..."

Nick, however, was already out the door.

*End Flashback*

Now here he was on his sixth bottle of blood.  The message on his machine only made
his anger boil.  For reasons unknown, he hit play once more.

*beep*

"Hey, Nick, it's Nat.  Listen, I can't make it tomorrow night for videos.  Something
came up.  I'll see you later."

*beep*

The bottle cracked in his hand as Nick snarled sarcastically, "Oh, I KNOW what
came up."

*The Next Night*

It was his night off, yet Nick did anything but relax.  He was not even at home.  The
night air whipped around his jacket as he stood outside the restaurant, the large window's
allowing easy viewing of the patrons inside.  However, only two held his interest.

This Alex was with Natalie, *HIS* Natalie.

Through the years, Nick had never had this problem.  It was always him and Nat,
whether it was at work, watching movies, talking, arguing, or working on his cure.  Either
way, she was with him.

Except for tonight.

No, tonight she was with another.  One who could give her things that Nick could not.
Things that he desperately wanted to give her, taking back what she had to offer.  The
beast held him back, silently urging him to take without giving, not bothering with the
outcome.  The man inside fought everyday, but was now losing the battle, and the
vampire was basking in the hatred of what the golden eyes saw.

Nick could see them now, one holding the other as they danced.  Her body moved well
to the music, the black dress gliding along her skin as she moved.  The man held her
close, too close for Nick's approval.  Amber eyes now watched the pair, noticing each
and every caress, Alex's hand sliding down Nat's back, just above her bottom.  Hands
clinching into tight fists, Nick observed how he pulled Natalie's hips into his, no doubt
letting her know he was aroused.

Before his eyes, Nick watched the scene play before him.  It was then that he made his
decision, one that was fairly simple to make.

Nick would NOT let someone have what was his.

"Never," he whispered, his fangs glistening in the silver moonlight.

*

Alex walked into his apartment whistling.  It had been a very good evening indeed.  He
could tell Natalie's resistance was wearing thin.  It would only be a couple of more days
before she was in his bed.

"Oh yes, Miss Lambert, soon you'll be panting my name," Alex said as he threw his coat
on the chair.

"Don't count on it."

Alex looked up to see a man standing before him.  The man was his height, with piercing
blue eyes and a pale complexion.  The combination scared Alex to death.

Trying to regain his composure, he slowly walked up to him.  "Who are you?  What the
hell are you doing here?"  The questions themselves came out in a blur.

Nick smiled wickedly as he answered, "Reclaiming what is mine."  In the blink of an eye,
Nick pinned Alex against the wall.  It only took a few seconds to catch the man's gaze,
focusing his senses on the rapid heartbeat.

"Listen close.  Tonight, you will call Natalie Lambert.  You will tell her that the time you
spent together was nice, but things are not working out.  Do you understand?"

The seductive voice penetrated Alex's head as he replied in a monotone voice, "Call
Nat...tell her not working out...."

Nick released Alex and left the apartment.

Now it was time for Natalie....

*

Natalie came into her apartment exhausted.  She landed on her couch, propping her feet
up on the table.  Sidney, her large white and gray cat, sensed his mistress' mood, and took
the liberty of jumping into her lap, purring and offering comfort.  Natalie began to stroke
the cat's fur as she looked down at the dress she wore.  A simple black dress, cut above
the knees and with an off-the-shoulder top.  Unknown to her, several male eyes had
turned her direction as she and Alex danced.  Unknown to her, one pair of eyes were
golden and angry.

She closed her eyes as Alex came into the picture once more.  He was so damn sexy,
but to her, that was all he had going for him.  As much as she wanted him to be, Alex
was not Nicholas Knight.

Now there was someone sexy, Nat thought.  From the moment she met him, she knew
she had fallen hard.  Over the years, it had grown from a physical attraction to an
emotional love.  After all, compassionate, courageous, decent men who were there for
women didn't exactly beat down her door.

It was not meant to be.

"Oh Sid," she sighed, "How can one woman love someone who will love everyone else
but her."  She stood, walking over to the kitchen to make some tea.  She continued her
conversation, but more to herself that to her loyal companion.

"I'm tired of waiting.  I have a life to live.  It can't be spent on a dream that's never going
to happen.  Yes, he did tell me from the beginning that it would be platonic only.  I have
now accepted that.  Alex is exactly what I need.  It might not be love, but it will be nice to
be wanted, desired."

So busy with her task, she didn't bother to answer the phone when it rang.  'Probably Nick,
wanting to know why we didn't watch videos tonight,' her conscience told sadly her.

However, the voice on the other end was different.  She knew it was Alex, but his voice
sounded strain, as if he were a zombie.  However, she stopped wondering what was wrong
with the first sentence of his message.

"Hey Nat, it's Alex.  Listen, the time we spent together was nice, but things are not working
out.  This is basically good-bye, even though I hate to end it on a machine.  Lot's of love,
you deserve it."

The answering machine went flying down the hall, hitting the wall with a thunderous clang.
Hatred soared through Natalie's blood.  Sidney knew when to make a hasty exit, which he
did.  Natalie had to grab the counter to support herself.  A single tear made its way down
her cheek.

"Well, Lambert, you might as well face it.  No male species, whether its human or not,
wants you.  You were not meant to experience love.  Only sex, which you only get
occasionally.  Stop waiting for Mr. Right.  He is not going to show.  You've been waiting
for 33 years.  That has given him plenty of time to show up.  Has he?  Nope. " she told
herself.

She mentally shook herself as she closed her eyes, repeating to herself what her mind had
just told her, but what her heart could not accept.  It was only a moment later that she felt
a cold chill caress her skin.  She slowly turned around.  A gasp escaped her lips as she
saw Nick lounging on her couch.

Seeing the dress up close, Nick had to swallow hard.  The material clung to her body,
hugging the susceptible curves, the top displaying a tempting amount of cleavage.  He
gracefully got up, throwing his jacket absently over a chair, his eyes never leaving her.

Sensing his cool manner and observing his casual actions unnerved Natalie more than
she wanted to admit.  Angrily she approached him, asking him in a strident voice, "What
are you doing here?"

He answered in a harsh voice of his own, "I was in the neighborhood, so I decided to
drop by.  Of course, I'm surprise you are even home."

This angered her more.  "What the hell does that suppose to mean?"

Nick now stood before her, the anger in his soul reflecting through the golden haze of his
eyes.  "Well, dressed like that, I assumed you would probably be hitting the sheets with
your friend, what's his name, Alex something," he sneered, the tips of his fangs visible as
he spoke each menacing word.

Natalie could only laugh at his tone.  "Why the hell do you care?"

With movements quicker than the eye, Nick grabbed Natalie and slammed her against
the wall.  Using her surprise to his advantage, he savagely covered her mouth with his,
thrusting his tongue between her lips.  The wild strokes of his powerful tongue made Nat
weak, but she refused to submit to his demanding attitude.  She tried to shove him off
her, but he would not budge.

With a furious gasp, Nick broke off the heated kiss, staring at Nat with a wild expression.
It was one akin to an animal gives when approaching its intended mate.  With the beast
taking over his intentions, his hands roamed roughly over her body, squeezing her breasts
and thighs hard.  When her hand timidly reached for his face, he closed his eyes at the
sensations the action caused.

As soon as his eyes shut, Natalie ducked under his arm and ran for the bedroom door.
Never once did she look behind her as she slammed the door and locked it.  Her body
leaned against the door, her chest heaving short, deep breaths, her eyes trying to shut out
the image that had just played before her.

"Not a nice way to treat a friend."

Slowly, Nat's eyes opened.  Beside her window, leaning against the wall, Nick looked
victoriously at her.  Her hand snuck behind her, searching for the knob that would allow
her to escape his thrilling, sexual presence.

As if reading her mind, Nick taunted, "Do you really think you could hide from me?
You forget, I have excellent tracking skills.  The hunted learns to become the hunter
over time."

Natalie decided to stand her ground.  "Why are you here?  To taunt me?  Tease me?
Every other man in my life has, why not you?"

Nat's words hit Nick hard, but he waged to hit harder.  He flew in front of her, trapping
her soft body between the hard wood of the door and the harder stand of his body.  His
fingers traced her jaw, sliding down dangerously close to her breasts.  His other hand
reached up, grabbing her hair to tilt he head up to him.  Natalie could feel his breath, his
lips barely touching hers as he spoke.

"Tonight, I followed you.  I saw the way you moved against him, Natalie.  Oh yes, and
the vampire feasted on the anger inside me as I watched.  Not just him, either.  There
were others, other mortal men who wanted you, their bodies desperately wanting yours
under them."  By now, his hand grabbed hers, bring it to his adamantine shaft.  With his
hand over hers, he motioned her fingers along his length, showing her his state of arousal
through the tight jeans.

"They all wanted you, but only one can have you," Nick told her, both of his hands just
above the material covering her upper torso.  "And that one is me."

The material gave way with a hard yank, falling into the floor into two pieces.  Nick's
hands rubbed roughly over her bare breasts while his mouth descended over hers, his
tongue battling with her own.  He barely felt her hands on his body until cool air hit his
chest, the buttons on his shirt now opened.  He released her body long enough to shed
the shirt off, quickly returning to his exploration, hands roaming lower.

Natalie began an exploration of her own.  The opposite of Nick, her hand gently slid
down his body, almost hesitantly.  Her thumbs glided over his nipples briefly, her hands
moving on down.  As soon as she reached the button of his jeans, her attitude changed
drastically.  Passion overtook temperance.  Nat quickly undid the button, almost ripping
the zipper as she pulled it down.  The jeans were shoved down as well as the silk boxers.
While he was stepping out of his shoes and socks, her delicate fingers forcefully grabbed
his shaft, traveling up and down in smooth, confident motions.

An animalistic growl of desire roared from deep within Nick's chest.  He tore his mouth
from hers.  However, he refused to leave her face.  A seductive grin made its way across
his lips.  Nick's golden eyes never left her curious blue ones as he leaned forward, his
tongue creeping along her cheek, coursing its way down to her neck.  There the vampire
demanded its share, for now he sucked fiercely.  The man, however, refused to allow the
fangs to cut the flesh.  A war rage inside Nick as he tasted his love's salty skin.

'No, she is mine.  I will not let you have her.'

'Try your best, but you will fail to control me.  I always win.'

"NO!" Nick yelled.  Roaring in need of possession, he grabbed Natalie's hands and
pinned them against the door.  Her breasts rubbed erotically against his chest as he first
moved down, then thrusted up, his rigid manhood just below her heated core.  The
glances were only brief before he plunged savagely into her willing body.  The sensation
was so exotic, he remained for a moment.  Impatience became obvious, and he started to
grind into her.  Growling met moaning as he slammed against her body.  He released her
hands, reaching down to her hips to pull them to his own.

Natalie's legs wrapped around the calves of his legs, arching up from the door as she
shoved her hips against his, drawing his hungry shaft into her starving moistness.  The
moment he released her hands, she attacked his back.  Raw claw marks briefly appeared
on his back as she raked her nails down the hard body.  She leaned up, her teeth biting
deep into Nick's lower lip.

Her actions undid him.  The eyes that were once gold now turned scarlet with primal
desire.  One hand reached under her chin, quickly tilting her head, the pliability of her
neck no match for the sharpness of his fangs.

The orgasm hit her so hard that Nat did not notice the piercing of her skin.  Wave after
wave of ultimate pleasure hit her.  A loud moan escaped her lips as she felt him devour
her essence, wrapping her fingers through his hair as encouragement.

The sweet tang of her blood allowed Nick his own release.  As his seed flowed coolly into
the lava of her womanly core, blood tickled his tongue and throat.  The vampire rendered
to the flavors, but the man refused it.  Instead, he enjoyed the sensations only he, and not
the beast, could feel.  Ordering the beast to take only a few swallows, Nick moaned at
the human responses of his body.

Moments passed as each fought to regain their composure.  Nick looked at Nat with
crystal blue eyes, leaning forward to kiss her gently.  The response he got delighted him,
for she pushed past his lips and tasted his own mouth with wildness and urgency.

After breaking away, Nick leaned his forehead against hers.  "Natalie, I love you.  Never
forget that," he whispered.

"I love you, too," she replied.  She turned to her bed with a knowing smile.  "Want to
continue this in a more comfortable place?" she asked with a grin.

He chuckled as he carried her off to the bed.  "But of course."

As he laid down on top of her, he held her gaze.  "Natalie, the vampire and the man
both want you.  But, I will not allow the beast to have you.  Only I can.  You belong to me.
Now, I'm offering myself to you.  Will you accept me?"

The soft word that she whispered was barely heard as he descended upon her lips once
more, "Yes."

The end.

Okay, comments, suggestions, and gentle criticism can be sent to capentine@hotmail.com.
Remember, this is my first story.  Personally, I think I could have done alot better, but I
don't know how.  If you know, please tell me.  Thanks.
